Who are we?

Warwickshire Race Equality Partnership (WREP) is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity.  It’s objectives are:

·        to work towards the elimination of racial discrimination

·        to promote equality of opportunity and good relations between persons of different racial groups

·        to relieve the needs of those who have suffered racial discrimination by the provision of information, advice and support.

What do we do?

We offer a variety of services designed to help us achieve our objectives.  Our work focuses on key areas such as:

4 Key areas

Casework

We offer a free, independent and completely confidential racial discrimination / racial harassment casework service which includes advising on the best course of action for employment issues. If you think you have been discriminated against, or experience difficulty in using public services, because of your race or ethnic background, we can advise and support you.

Community Development

We offer support, practical advice and assistance to Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) led groups regarding development opportunities and funding.  We facilitate local consultation events to consider the views and concerns of BME communities in order to improve public services in rural and urban areas.  We also distribute information to groups though our website and e-mail network and can arrange training on a variety of issues.

Policy Development

We will help organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors to implement good practice in promoting race equality and policy development.  We provide advice and training on a range of practical issues including positive action, legal obligations, race equality schemes, equality impact assessments and ethnic monitoring.

Promoting Race Equality

Part of our role within Warwickshire is to promote race equality.  This includes implementing appropriate strategies to prevent racial harassment and discrimination.  We also work with a variety of organisations to help tackle racist incidents.
